Reflections
Step back into a time machine back to the times where you smell roasted chestnuts and baby powder on the streets. You'll see little children by the luxurious green grass fields playing sepak takraw and five stones and pickup sticks. They're enjoying themselves and they're carefree. Late in the evenings, mothers would yell at their little kids from the kitchen windows, gathering them inside the house with the smell of fried chicken wings with oil dripping wet onto the serving plate.
Take a slight peek behind your back and you'll find who you truly were. That little innocent child; probably playing Pokemon monster cards back in our generation. You were carefree. You were happy. Always remember to breathe.
I took a look today, and I found myself again. I've been living in dreams for too long a time, and I'm waking up. You are not going to bring me down anymore and I promise you (with my purple hair) that I'm gonna be who I was back then.
Now, back to reality:
It is undeniable that we have to become ambitious in this society to succeed. However, we often forget the fact that we have to breathe. I've inhaled my breathe today and I'm gonna start anew again on Monday.
It is as clear as a bell that I would want to do well, that is the reason behind my enthusiasm. If you see it as a threat, face it, friend, I'm better than you. There is not a need for you to dampen my motivation to do well because I will definitely not appreciate your efforts and whatever you're doing do not hit the nail on my head. I've got it all planned and carved out. I'm gonna live a life better than you do.
See me as a threat and you'll sink lower. See me as a motivation and you'll go higher. You decide. I might be arrogant, stuck up and prideful. But look where we are -- Singapore. The best part? We're in an institution where we need to fight competitively for ourselves. You're not in my list I'd help. Neither would I appreciate the fact that I would be in yours. Gather your strength and fight against me. This is life.
