A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The girls decided to celebrate YYT's 20th at Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Cafe down at Hotel Rendevous. Open since 16 April 2012, I have always passed by it on the way to Rochor Tau Huey and definitely it caught my eye with its pretty in white korean-inspired interior theme. And, being a photo-food junkie, I've always wanted to experience dining there. Thus, was super excited about dinner that night!
Apparently, you have to enter the pretty cafe via 2nd floor, just so you know. Level 1 is a bar for chilling out serving cocktails and mocktails. Thankgod for bubbly and friendly waiters because just upon stepping foot into the hotel, one of them served me already by taking the initiative to bring me up to Level 2. If it wasn't for him, I would probably think the cafe is on the 1st Level.

The wonderlusty victorian fountain greeted me at the main entrance
Basically, it's called Full House because it supposed to be LIKE A HOUSE. Dining at someone's house... how does that sound? I admit, the place really did give me the family concept feel.

Get what I mean now?

menu of the night
You must check out their totally cute menu. They have pictures of korean-like characters in addition to the comic strips at the end of the menu. Food choices wise, they have quite a variety with many 'East Meets West' combinations. Quite interesting, I thought. You would see why later on in this post...Since there were a couple of us, we ordered different maincourses to try. That's what I love about dining in big groups. Don't have to make another trip back down just to try another food that you didn't order the first time there. More people, More food!
Main Courses of the night generally was decent. Nothing special except for the mix of cuisine. Just some mentions in particular:
Vongole Spaghetti ($16.90) was very tasty. Not too oily, and generous with their mix of ingredients. I would recommend this dish, oh especially for spaghetti lovers! They have quite alot of variety for spag choices, clams or mushromms you choose them!
Wok-Sear Chicken Chop ($16.90) was juicy and tender. Grilled Chicken Thigh comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables which I believe is xiaobaicai (it's the same as my fish's - refer to below) I felt that the sauce was quite refreshing in contrast to the chicken itself and ohmygod, just look at yet another unique food creation!
Salmon Salad ($16.90) was simple yet please don't belittle it. The sliced mango was fresh sweet enough and I like how they topped it off with almonds. The three thick salmon slices themselves look pretty enough, like carved out roses, don't they?
For myself, it was so typical. Looked at the menu, confirmed ordering fish. Which fish? No idea. Finally, I decided on the Pan Sear Dory Fish ($16.90). Supposed to be served with lemongrass cream sauce. Thankgod I always do 'research' before heading to a new place to try, so I know, and yours truly who doesn't eat creamy-related requested for the sauce to be swopped. It may not be the original taste, of which the lemongrass cream definitely does enhance the taste and texture of the fish, but to me, what I was eating was nice already - it's perfect so long it's not creamy! So they kindly changed it to tomato based sauce for me *awww!* I love the xiaobaicai and doumiao vegetables w sliced mushrooms that came with the fish. Very soft and together with my special sauce, it was really yummy!

Surprise for the Birthday girl!
with her slice of fruit cake
Happy Birthday!
once again
I thought the food was just acceptable, not a place that I would want to come back again just to dine. Well, if I ever do come back, it's because the ambience of the place made up for it. Because, like I have mentioned, I really do think that it's a pretty cozy dining place for meetups and probably, photoshoots (:
But till then,
