L'etoile Cafe
Inspired by the indie cafes in Japan. L'etoile is a lifestyle shop cum cafe with Japanese-French influences. Located in the heart of Novena/ Farrer Park area, it offers an off the beaten track venue for a quiet afternoon to be spent over drinking coffee and reading good books. Come evening when the sun has set, relax with a glass of wine amidst a surrounding of either simple clean cut furniture on the first floor, or an eclectic interior on the second floor.
I was first introduced to this cafe via my friend's instagram. I thought to myself, 'Oh! Another new cafe for me to try out!'. Then during the SMU Gourmet Club's amazing food race, L'etoile Cafe was one of the stations and we therefore had to find our way there. Despite stepping food there, I didn't seat down to properly try their brunch food items. Thus, one of the nights, I went back to try their all-day big breakfast as well as other bites on their awesomely cute menu.
I was amazed at their unique interior decor as well as the vintage-style furnishings and the dainty artsy stuffs sold near the counter. fyi, The cafe has two levels, and through I was seated on the first level, I went up to take a look. The 2nd level's quite a cozy space, very apt for a private birthday party or such.
heh! ^^
Was very excited to come here for The Big Breakfast!
Because, it has the combination of my favourite breakfast items here and there! Not the perfect combination still, but one of the places where I can have most of my fav items together.
Overall, I thought it was quite oily :( But no complains for the price paid, so yay still!
Fruits Platter
Don't judge me for ordering this. Probably I'll be getting comments or people thinking 'SIAO WHY YOU ORDER FRUITS! WASTE $$$!' But ohwells, I just felt like eating this that night. heh! And yes, okay. I admit, no big deal and nothing fantastic. Fruits simple taste like fruits, they were good enough to satisfy my cravings at that moment.
Seafood Aglio Olio
Doesn't taste like the normal Aglio Olio. Some may even say this taste rather tasteless, but to me, it was quite nice plus the seafood was generally fresh (; And, it's just me but I really like non-oily + soupier kind of Aglio Olio. So sprinkle some pepper and chill flakes on top and this was good to go for me!

Your blog is a classic case of how one thinks one is a photographer/food critic just because you have a camera and ample pocket money to travel round the island to spend.
ReplyDeleteReading a few of your posts makes me upset and grossed out enough to let you know that you should recognize that you are still just a kid whose palate is still immature and opinions superficial. Please stop doing the good indie cafes an injustice with your narcissistic self shots and ridiculous posts.
It's just sad.
