STRICTLY PANCAKES
A PAN & CAKE AFFAIR

Located directly across POMO, Strictly Pancakes was where I spent my lunchtime at with my FBT mates one fine day before the BOSS bidding stress got to us. If it's your first time there, it may be a little hard to spot this refurnished old shophouse because it looks small in-between a row of other shop houses even though it occupies a 2story building with an alfresco dining area. For myself, I've been there once before about a year back! Because it was quite popular during that period and me being me, I just had to try it for myself. I didn't blog about it but honestly, I don't remember it being fantastic and definitely don't crave for pancakes. Maybe, just cause I'm not much of a pancakes lover...

I have always preferred the seating on the 2nd floor because it’s more spacious upstairs & cozier

Each mains ordered come with a choice of butter (rum&rainsin, garlic&herbs, unsalted and salted) as well as maple syrup by default. I don't take butter but my friends love the herb garlic & rum raisin ones! On the other hand, I'm very happy living by with just their awesome maple syrup!

Reviews say that they are famous for their Garlic butter Prawns and Beef me Up! However, I decided to go for a mix and match instead. I get the best of all worlds - With my favourites, how wrong can it get, right!

Short Stack ($5.50) - I customised my pancakes set with the perfect side companions of Sauteed Mushroom ($2.50) & Beef Hash ($2.50) & Chicken Chipolata ($2.50). The sauteed mushrooms were a little peppery and it was super awesome. As for the beef hash, I prefer the one at Five&Dime as these ones were too salty plus its looks failed me. The chicken chipolata were tasty enough and I wanted more than just 2(!) however they were really oily - could see the oil literally in between the slits of the sausage opening #sinful

Nothing much to blog about the rest of their pancakes, because all of us except Sharm ordered the Mix & Match, just like myself. hahaha! Didn't really realise until I did the photo collage. Such a joke - no wonder we are friends... The next time I'm back there I've decided that I would order the Savoury Pancake - Beef Skewers! Tempted by the grilled pineapples & salsa sauce side. Till then, toodles!

Anyways, if you wanted to know, I felt the pancakes were definitely full enough for lunch! I'm a small eater so I couldn’t finish all the pancakes, however the rest did and they were really full too so yeah, just a good gauge for you. You can always opt for the choice of more pancakes for whatever you order. For example, the mix & match set gives you an option of Short (x2pancakes), Medium (x3pancakes) or Large Stack (x4pancakes)! For those like me who can't each much yet wants to try a bit of everything because they have such a spread in their menu choices(savory, desserts etc), I’d advise you to simple SHARE the pancakes (eg. for 4person, 3 different pancakes are you'r good to go!).
