Sponsored ADV: Acnes Medicated Skincare
It was the lip balms & gels the prev time, read my blogged review here if you haven't done so. This time round, Metholatum has kindly sponsored me with products for my face!
For your information, it's the #1 medicated skincare brand in Japan!
How Acnes begin? :(
Thanks to this oily substance SEBUM which is naturally discharged from the oil glands of the skin. Acnes/Pimples are common amongst teenagers during the puberty period. Studies say that approx 85% of all people between age 12-25 will develop acne to some degree. Thankfully, I fall into the 15% category because I have been quite blessed with acne-free skin for the past 19years of my life. However, during the exam periods, I never fail to develop some sort of pimples on my forehead which disappears right after the stress period, heh. Back to fighting acnes, Fret not! Proper care for the skin can help to prevent and reduce pimples. Just don't end up squeezing them :(
Here with me are 2 featured products out of the wide range as seen above
Acnes Creamy Wash (S$6.90)
• Anti Bacterial: Contains isopropyl Methyphenol(o-Cymen-5-ol) which penetrates deep into pores to fight against bacteria and prevent pimples.
• Soothing: Helps sooth redness and skin irritation caused by acne. Prevent aggravation of pimples.
• Deep Cleansing: Helps unclogs pores and reduce blemishes by deep cleansing to remove dirt, oil, impurities and excess sebum.
• Moisture Retention: Contains Vitamin C with moisture retention benefits, leaving your skin soft and moisturized after wash.
• Anti-oxidation: Contains Vitamin E, an effective anti-oxidant, to keep the elasticity of your skin
REVIEW: I thought it would be white but it turned out yellow instead. Never mind its colour, because its the effects that we are looking at! The product isn't watery, so you have to put some amount on your palm followed by water to make it foamy for usage. Although it is medicated, it produced a citrus;lime-smelling scent instead. Upon use, it helped to cleanse my T-zone area & I felt refreshed after washing my face with it. However, as much as I think it is useful for typical skin conditions, it was nothing really fantastic to mention about. Plus, I don't know is it just my skin, but I felt that it was a little tight immediately after use :/
Acnes Sealing Jell (S$8.90)
It helps to kill acne bacteria from deep inside of pores!
REVIEW: Likewise, the oil-free jell is yellow in colour, due to the medicated ingredients. It has a strong medicated scent which I'm not really a fan of :( It comes in a very slim tube making it easy to bring around. All you have to do is squeeze out the amount you want and apply it on your targeted face area. Dab Dab Dab! Ensure that it has been absorbed into the skin for better effects. For me, I'm so glad it was not oily thus making it easy to apply! In general, it'd be good to apply the gel gently on any acne or zit you have on your face, and I'm sure it would go away soon enough. You'll see! Definitely not biting, you don't have to worry even for the most sensitive skin (like mine)
