Located at basement one of Ngee Ann City, Pique Nique is the place I stroked off my to-visit-all-day-breakfast places tonight. Pique Nique actually means picnic in French and the experience is lived through its natural wooden furnishings, laid-back and cosy patches of greenery. And just so you know, it's the sister company of the frequently mentioned about French bistro-patisserie, Antoinette!
Minimal Deco yet Stylish! Oh, check out some tinge of vintage floral prints around! Overall, I enjoyed the ambience at the restaurant very much. It's a Bistro-concept alright!
Besides serving all-day breakfast and exquisite desserts, it's a American-Style cafe thus expect a variety of your favourite hearty American mains like Burgers, Whoopie Pies and Mac&Cheese.
Check out their brand-new menu here!
However, personally I was certain that I'm visiting them for their breakfast sets as I'm on a hunt for my favourite brunch place in Singapore!
What's Popular? Some say, the American Favourite breakfast and Eggs Benedict served with Pique Nique’s special fries. They have other typical breakfast wonders such as Toasts & Waffles on the menu as well. Normally, I'd go for either scramble or poached eggs however their fullwerkz ingredient set combination with bacons etc didn't interest me at all, so I decided to be game about trying their Farmer's Omelette instead! I didn't make the wrong choice, it was totally worth the gamble!
A good mix of ingredients wrapped within the Omelette - includes: Ham, Bacon, Sausages, Onions, Potato etc SPELLS YUMZYUMXYUMZ! Was a surprise to me because noone online has actually reviewed about their Omelette. It's always on their Eggs Benedict or some other food... So yeah! But I really loved this dish and if I come back here again, I'm so eating this again!
Happy Girls, Happy Food!
On the otherhand, the dear girlfriend who was feeling real hungry ordered a whopping large burger!
CONCLUDING VERDICT;
I was very excited to try the food at this cafe yet after reading some reviews and blog posts online which expressed their disappointment, I actually thought twice about going already. However, a part of me said I should just go ahead with my dinner plans there that night. And, you know what? Because of the 'controversy' on whether the place is worth going or not, the more I couldn’t wait to actually try this place out myself!
When there with an open mind, and I don't know if it's just my goodluck or theirs, but I thought the general dining experience there was good. I have nothing much to complain about. Good service staff, Tasty food, what more can I ask for? It probably wouldn't be a place I would go back in near future, just because I want to finish trying the other places on my all-day-breakfast to-try list. But once I'm done touring Singapore, I'll remember the food here and probably come back one day!
Oh, anyways, through they are famous for their desserts, we didn’t get the chance to try them because I'm not really a sweet tooth person. Nevertheless, the desserts looked really pretty!!!!
#ootd
Nothing's left to do in town since we ended dinner real early and the next movie timing was 9plus, so the next better plan was to walk over to my current home to chill out. Ended up watching the 9pm Channel8 show together plus checking people out online *ahems*
