Singapore Social Media Day (SGSMD) 2011 is the 1^st in Singapore. It’s an event initiated by a group of bloggers supported by OMY.sg, who make up the EXCOs for this event.

So what’s it about? It’s a charity carnival (via FLEA Booths: 20% of their sales goes to the fund) in celebration of the World Social Media Day marked 30th June, to raise $$$ for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

The aim of this event is to promote social media activities (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube & blogs) as well as to social gather the bloggers and other people behind the computer screens – Show their face now!

So as seen from the poster above, there will be blogshop sales booth like a mini FLEA sales, performances, games station up on Level 5’s Gallery & of course, the sandwich-making contest with Bloggers Wang Ruiting,Tee Ying Zi, Hazel Tay & Andy Kwan!

The SGSMD Programme:

2pm - 9pm: Games, Blogshops, Signing of SoMe! Wall

3pm - 4pm: Performance by Ashmie & Afwan, Joshua Alexis & Jeremy Khoo

4pm: Arrival of our SoMe! GOH

4.15pm - 5pm: Creative Sandwich Making Contest with Wang Ruiting, Tee Ying Zi, Hazel Tay & Andy Kwan

6.30pm - 8pm: Performance by Shimona, Angie Wang & Echo Music

I attended this event today as a SoMe Ambassador.

Mint’s asked me to help out for the event & I agreed to it - My main jobscope is to assist Calvin & mend the Sandwich making booth segment which happened ard 4.45PM.
