Hi there! I’m Samantha,

and this space encompasses my personal milestones made beautiful in His time. Combining my flair for easy-to-read writing and my love for photography, here you'll find me sharing the thing I'm most passionate about - travel, food, fashion and my conversations with God.

*P.S when God was blessing others with the gift of height, He left me out realizing that great things come in tiny packages, so instead I am gifted with endless energy and a big wide smile to get through difficult times.

Forever & always, a child of God. Through this cozy little virtual haven, I hope each post inspires at least someone out there with my life stories.

Paternal Grandma's Birthday!

Went to our 'family restaurant' in the West area of Singapore - Lotus Restaurant, serving Thai Food, to celebrate my Grandmother's Birthday. August-Sept is really the grandparents' Birthday month! :/

They served us Thai Chips which I really love dipping them into the Thai Chilli Sauce

Prosperity Lotus Buns
They were really mini and we had 3 big plates of them. Guess the adults over ordered! I always love eating these buns but for this one, I found them too oily and the bun not spongy enough so I wouldn't recommend eating them.

Mee Sua
Since young, I always believe it's a must to have 'Noodles' for your Birthday! I loved the sauce and texture of the Mee Sua. The things at the side is actually Quail Eggs, really creative right?

Cold Plate Platter Combination
Next up, is the cold plate platter! It's quite an expected dish in any 10-course type of meals. This platter combination isn't to my liking, but my family members thought it was real good...

In between, we got ourselves some wine and alcohol as drinks.
I like the white wine brought by my Uncle.

This brand of White Wine is to my liking. It's texture is smooth and not too harsh for the throat. Although it has alcoholic percentages in it, it was a tad sweet and I just drank it like as if it was white grape juice. Tasty! But just not too much of it.

Sharks Fin Soup
Another typical dish served in those 10-course meals. I found this soup nice but not very extraordinary; it's just like any other Sharks Fin I have drank before.

Roasted Chicken with Fishcake
This is a very interesting Dish. Crispy on the outside, soft on the itself with a layer of fishcake in between the chicken skin and meat. Normally one would find either or but not many would thought of putting those 2 ingredients together.

Big Whole Steamed Sea Bass
This dish is really good and I loved it. One of the best fishes I have ever eaten!
I kept taking many portions of it... Yes, again and again, despite being very full after the soup already. The fish meat was very fresh and the sauce was really tasty. Even nicer than those served during Weddings.

This is another drink my Uncle brought along. Packed in a carton just like milk or fruit juice, I didn't expect it to actually be WINE. SAKE, to be exact! How cute it is!

Got to snap a picture of it. Limited Edition, just kidding! I just haven't seen it around. Normally wines, let alone, SAKE(!) are kept in bottles...

AND I GOT BORED BECAUSE I WAS VERY FULL ALREADY...

WENT OUT FOR A WALK TO DIGEST MY FOOD ^^

Came back to more food served! Not surprisingly, my paternal family eat like Royals. That's a good thing actually, only that we always over-order the food!

Stir-Fried Long Beans
Cooked with Shrimps, this dish was tasty but a little too salty and oily. I didn't find it very healthy considering it was supposed to be a Vegetable!

Stir-Fried Pork Ribs
Not a fan of Pork, I didn't eat this dish. However, it sure looks appetising. The shiny texture of the ribs makes it look fresh and well-cooked!

I'll show you my little niece (: Not very close to her through but she's cute uh!

That's her Daddy feeding her milk. Seldom see Dads doing that, perhaps this REALLY IS the new era, the new generation of Families. Kudos to that!

Anyways, Dessert came! I always love the desserts they have there. Our standard order since Day 1 is this (Look Below!)

Longan-Lychee Beancurd Sea Coconut ICE Dessert
It was very refreshing and good for digestion after a feast!
I took alot of the Ice because it was not only good for freezing me up but tasty as well!
I prefer Longans to Lychees because they are smaller to consume - You can just pop them into your mouth. Well, actually its the chewy feel that I like. The beancurd in it is very silky and sweet. I think it taste better than normal beancurds!

Overall, it's a good place for people who stay in the West!

Went straight home after that because it was quite late already.

XOXO,
SAMANTHA
