Hi there! I’m Samantha,

and this space encompasses my personal milestones made beautiful in His time. Combining my flair for easy-to-read writing and my love for photography, here you'll find me sharing the thing I'm most passionate about - travel, food, fashion and my conversations with God.

*P.S when God was blessing others with the gift of height, He left me out realizing that great things come in tiny packages, so instead I am gifted with endless energy and a big wide smile to get through difficult times.

Forever & always, a child of God. Through this cozy little virtual haven, I hope each post inspires at least someone out there with my life stories.

I'm walking on Sunshine!

Last night, Sharmaine slept over at my place and we had our nostalgic breakfast early at 8.15am. Typical, she's for MACS & I'm for KFC!

KFC's NEW! Roasta brekkie. Instead of having the typical fried chicken, it's now roasted/chargrilled. A little spicy for the morning tummy but it's yummy!

Project Sunshine 4, OCSP!
1st Intro Meeting, this morning!

So we met up with the other people from Sunshine 4. Almost all were dancers, from EMIX or some artsy sort. I can't dance or sing for nuts :( But other than that, they were a enthu high and friendly bunch of people. Expect to see them a lot and believe it or not, we will be spending almost the entire month of December together.

So what's Project Sunshine 4?
It's an Overseas Community Service Project. There are tons of it in SMU, my big hearted uni in town. Yes, my journey of getting into sunshine... it's a long story. But, I thankgod for it, knowing everything happens for a reason. If it's God's plan, it's God's plan... Oh, apparently today I found out that I was one of the 3 choices on their waiting list, when a senior backed out. And, at the same time, they heard from sources that I quite upz so they decided to choose me, woohooo! Happykid!

Just wanna share this testimony, praise the lord! So here goes...

Like I said, we received many emails from the school about various projects. It's really up to us which one we really feel for and which we eventually choose to go for. They are more or less the same - helping children, teaching children English, building libraries etc. Different countries, leaders, experience. So I collated a list of those that looked interesting and sent them out to MUSHU to sign up for them depending on which they want to. Meanwhile, twinny & I signed up for the same ones.

In the end, I got into Chiangmai (THANKYOU! Really appreciate it!) however I was given only 1 day to decide plus noone else I knew was going with me :( Meanwhile too, I was waiting for another project to reply me. I prayed and ask god what's his plan for me. Somehow also because twinny didn't get the acceptance email, I decided to just reject the offer knowing at the back of my mind that if it's God's plan to let me experience an OCSP this December, he will provide. This quote kept ringing in my mind, not kidding.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
So when I replied to reject the offer, I told myself that I'm rejecting on the basis that I'm prepared I may not even get accepted into the other ocsps that I signed up for, but it's okay (; I believe my god will give me something better! (& indeed, it proved to be true)

So moving on, for the next few days, I was just waiting for the other OCSPs to reply me, whether it's an offer or rejection. On Sunday night, my MUSHU friends Jiaqi, Ray & Sharmaine got into Proj Sunshine! Didn't even know they went for the interview, cause I only coordinated with Sharmaine about it. Anyways, end up, I didn't get any other offers :( Sadly but truly, Twinny & I continued signing up for others.

Then, a change of events! Monday midnight while I was in the cinema, KY whatsapped me to ask if I really want to be in Sunshine cause a senior backed out. I was stunned. In the movies somemore please!    Then I thought of twinny so I texted her cause I don't wanna pangseh her. Really wanna thankgod for her, such a true friend indeed. She told me 'As your good friend, I would say go for it since you never try ocsp before'. Awww! But still, I felt so sad that I wasn't able to go on a ocsp/travel with her :( On the bright side, at least I have my mushu friends with me plus a whole new experience awaiting!

Really thanks to Sharmaine too cause her arts camp whatsapp group was talking about PS4 and she unintentionally said that I haven't gotten my results when one of her friends asked. haha! Small world! Like I was one of the three up for consideration then just nice, Dorisa went to ask about me the night before, so they chose me over the other 2 girls.
Whoa, this is definitely all God's plan.
My God always give, it's just a matter of time...

Guess this just makes me appreciate my place in PS4 more! :D
Looking forward to rough it out in Laos, and enjoy shopping & food in BKK! Woohooo!

Till then, it's fundraising and local csp time before the actual trip in December. So rush!!! End finals on 6th, fly on the 7th. I don't think I can even celebrate my 20th birthday properly. Come airport send me off and shunbian celebrate for me can? *poppy eyes*
