Hi there! I’m Samantha,

and this space encompasses my personal milestones made beautiful in His time. Combining my flair for easy-to-read writing and my love for photography, here you'll find me sharing the thing I'm most passionate about - travel, food, fashion and my conversations with God.

*P.S when God was blessing others with the gift of height, He left me out realizing that great things come in tiny packages, so instead I am gifted with endless energy and a big wide smile to get through difficult times.

Forever & always, a child of God. Through this cozy little virtual haven, I hope each post inspires at least someone out there with my life stories.

FIVE & DIME

A COZY AFFAIR

A standalone at the corner on the streets of River Valley, Welcome to Five & Dime! With its black and white theme, I found myself immersed into an American 60s vintage yet modernly chic dining atmosphere. Paying close attention to the details, you will see that they have put much effort to do up the whole place, hoping to give diners an amazing experience.

We sat at the table closest to the outsides, overlooking the road with cars zooming past...

Visited the cafe with my girlfriend, Ru Ting ت who has since started her bridging lessons and dying apparently. Studying woes are such #firstworldpains

It was during the busy lunch hours, like this even on a Weekday. Thankgod I made reservations beforehand and we managed to enjoy our meal that fine afternoon.

This cafe has such a simple menu that in one glance, on the same page of the menu, you have it all there! Goes to show that how niche their food choices under each category are. Even with those little choices, everything seems so delicious and I was really tempted to order everything at a go to try. Usually, I'll go for the typical Big Breakfast set because it has everything (scrambled eggs, sausages, beans, toast, bacon etc) that the cafe should be popular for, plus, it's good for indecisive souls like myself. However, their big breakfast didn't tempt me enough to order it.

YUMMMZ! ٩(^‿^)۶
Eventually, I settled for Eggs Benny which comes with beautifully poached eggs and thinly sliced ham, served with a side of slightly spicy potato hash, fresh greens and a portion of sweetened syrup freshfruits mix.

generous portion; enough for a lazy afternoon brunch followingwhich a food coma
I totally fell in LOVE with their potato hash fried with onions and ham which was a tad spicy. Because I had a special request for the Hollandaise sauce to be served separately, I managed to eat the poached eggs by itself and it was seriously too s-o-u-rrrr and kinda lil' tasteless:( I had no choice but to eat them with the sauce and it tasted perfectly well together. So well, I guess Eggs Benny are paired with Hollandaise sauce for a reason *sighs*

The rocket salad greens were drizzled in a sweet and tasty vignette sauce which I loved. What I found unique about Five & Dime's set is that they come with fruits (my fav!!!) - Some sweetened Grapes, Strawberries, Kiwis and Bananas. I could totally eat 10portions of those fruits. Would prefer if they were not sinked into the sweet syrup through.

The croissant cum English muffin-like beneath was fluffy and soft - ended up dipping it in the runny eggyolks

French Toast Set
What more can I say? As simple as it looks, likewise it's served with fresh greens and a portion of sweetened syrup freshfruits mix. Certainly not as filling as compared to what I had. This is an example of a simple fare tasting deliciously good.
