Hi there! I’m Samantha,

and this space encompasses my personal milestones made beautiful in His time. Combining my flair for easy-to-read writing and my love for photography, here you'll find me sharing the thing I'm most passionate about - travel, food, fashion and my conversations with God.

*P.S when God was blessing others with the gift of height, He left me out realizing that great things come in tiny packages, so instead I am gifted with endless energy and a big wide smile to get through difficult times.

Forever & always, a child of God. Through this cozy little virtual haven, I hope each post inspires at least someone out there with my life stories.

All about Reunions

CHINESE NEW YEAR THIS YEAR, I had very nice & heart warming food at reunion lunches & dinners. However, as usual, I'm not into the goodies, because until now, I haven't found a very nice pineapple tart. I used to anticipate & evantually eat many from 'The Hiding Place' when I was much younger, but last year, i ordered from them & it was an utter disappointment. Can you imagine! I was totally looking forward to it, from the ordering to the thought part, but when the bulk arrived, ohmy... looked so diff and def tasted so diff! Apparantely, I think they changed baker. HAI. No more nice pineapple tarts, decided not to order from them already :(

Where are you having your family reunion dinner this year, and why this particular venue?

1. Maternal Side Reunion Dinner
Annual reunion dinner at Paramount! It has always been there ever since... I was a little girl? Cause my grandmother's old friend works there, so it has been a 'tradition' I guess!

2. BSC Clique Reunion Lunch

Saizeriya Italian Restaurant
177, River Valley Road, #02-22 Liang Court Shopping Centre
Singapore 179030
Tel: 6337 9001
Operating Hours: Mon-Sun 11a.m. to 10p.m.

Saizeriya is well known for their budget yet nice & tasty Italian food.
I walked past this place at Liang Court a couple of times already, but I didn't realise that it's the same one I went to over at City Square Mall that night... until just now!

You can to choose from a variety of food, from appetizers to main courses to desserts, at very generous servings & presentations, THE BEST PART: at below S$10 per dish! How not to try!

Here comes the appetisers!

Very affordable Italian cuisine, which includes the above pics...

Now for the main courses!

The Seafood Gratin tastes good. Ate warm is the best cause you will feel the sense of heart-warming fulfillment upon finishing it.

Look at my Beef Hamburg!
Nothing special in particular, just a simple dish, but woah it tastes very good!

The beef patty is juicy and tender.
But I guess it's the mushroom sauce that makes it even nicer.
If you look closely, I counted the types of mushrooms! 3types, if I'm not wrong?!! *I hope not*
A sizzling hotplate of beef patty topped with 3types of mushroom brown sauce served with potato wedges, broccoli, corn & carrots and a fried egg.

What I loved about the dish is also the POTATO WEDGES! I loved them so much that I ordered an extra side portion to go along for munching... (:
Not too oily, Not too crispy, filled with big fat potato chunks SO MUCH YOU CAN EVEN TASTE THE REAL POTATO, my favourite!!!

Quoted from the website: "Overall, price is the best reason you should visit Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe. Yes, most of the dishes are below S$10!! In terms of quality of food, it cannot never beat true Italian restaurants. But they do have their own appeal for a league of fans from various age groups. A perfect location for family meals, couple meals, or even a solo meal. The convenient location of City Square Mall along the NEL (Farrer Park Station) makes this outlet easier to access, compared to the Liang Court store!"

To end off the day... We went to Orchard to do last-min CNY shopping! Walked around & left for grandma's house in Jurong East! Mygod, the journey was crap!!! Took super long to arrive, the train ride seemed forever.

At least, I can say... I reece the west side today thro, day before CNY official, woah, what an accomplishing experience! Went to places like LOT 1, etc. & omg I'm super bimbo man, I thought that Jurong Point = drop off at Jurong East station! TSK. Reach there, I realised I landed on an ULU land cause there's nth except for plain land there!

3. Paternal Side Reunion Dinner

When I was young, we always go to Liang Court's restaurant to have family dinner.
However in recent years, it has always been steamboat w special ingredients like very fresh seafood, etc. Love the prawns, fish and scallops! Honestly, hotels, expensive restaurants? I appreciate them, but I also prefer steamboats. It feels more CNY-ish. I mean, why throw your money away to posh restaurants... especially during the CNY period where set menus are more expensive right! Same time, same type of food, same company. Eat at home- different price! To me, it's the company that matters, not really the food. haha!

Rabbit's are nice, so this yr pls be nice to us!
