Hi there! I’m Samantha,

and this space encompasses my personal milestones made beautiful in His time. Combining my flair for easy-to-read writing and my love for photography, here you'll find me sharing the thing I'm most passionate about - travel, food, fashion and my conversations with God.

*P.S when God was blessing others with the gift of height, He left me out realizing that great things come in tiny packages, so instead I am gifted with endless energy and a big wide smile to get through difficult times.

Forever & always, a child of God. Through this cozy little virtual haven, I hope each post inspires at least someone out there with my life stories.

Welcome to my mid Europe travelogue! Today, we proceeded on to Geneva, the second most populous city in Switzerland and is the most populous city of Romandy, the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Situated where the Rhone exits Lake Geneva, it is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva. Did you know, Geneva is one of the most expensive cities of the world; the city is also ranked amongst the top in the terms of ‘quality of life’!

Before leaving Lucern, Switzerland, we popped by to the Lion Monument. It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris, France.

Designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1884), it's a giant dying lion carved out of a wall of sandstone rock above a pond at the east end of the medieval town. Indeed, it was a really sad Lion. I felt a little for it, and wasn’t so into taking pictures with a sad lion. Ended up taking pics of the ducks in the lakes instead

After that, we travelled all the way to Geneva!
Geneva is not just the 2nd seat of the United Nations after New York; it also houses many international bodies such as World Health Organization, International Labour Organization and World Committee of International Red Cross. The first few stops in Geneva today was of course, at its most famous landmarks, including its harbour, the magnificent Jet d’eau, the highest fountain in the world, Flower Clock and Reformation Wall. We also managed to view landmarks like United Nations Building and International Red Cross Building.

Had lunch in a random Chinese restaurant which turned out to be really good, especially since I hadn't had legit Chinese food for so long!

Menu of the day
Geneva is a picturesque city characterized by its cobblestone streets, old buildings and sidewalk cafes and restaurants. That's Europe for you, isn't it?

In Geneva, you find a park or a garden to relax around almost every corner! Good for one who loves nature and sightseeing. After lunch, we visited the University of Geneva

Geneva's Landmark, amazing Jet d'Eau
The lakeshore’s star attraction is the water jet, dazzling visitors as it shoots 140 metres into the air. It is best seen from the Bains des Pâquis, this incredible ‘beach’ in the city centre where Geneva’s smart set meets for a swim, a sauna or to eat a fondue! Another exceptional vantage point: a boat cruise on the lake, offering a unique view of the MontBlanc!

Everyone goes to see the Flower Clock in Geneva. You feel you have to. The Flower Clock is a clock made into a manicured flower garden. The designs can be fun and it's changes according to seasons - Really quite artistic completed with electric shears. Oh yes, try to avoid the tour buses that come full of people!

Just to take a picture and continue my visit...
Headed back to our hotel afterwards for a simple dinner!
Just so you know, Geneva's local specialties include fondue, raclette, lake fish dishes, smoked sausage and a variety of casseroles. As mentioned above, it's high cost of living in Geneva! However, although many of Geneva’s refined gourmet dining restaurants are expensive, one can also enjoy Geneva’s more relaxed café culture at a reasonable price. Don't worry too much when you're overseas, just spend, think later!

Pipping hot curry on a cold day was simply heavenly, a taste of Asia indeed!

If I'm ever back in Geneva the next time, I'd extend my stay for a getaway to Lake Geneva & Mont-Saleve. Both are a must-go! Mont-Salève is a breathtaking experience no one should miss. All you need to do is take the bus to the French border and ride up with the cable car to enjoy an extraordinary 360° view of the region. This is the perfect starting point for hiking and other sports activities, or a paragliding experience!

#reality Tonight, we made a transfer to Dijon cause we're leaving for France tomorrow morning!
